PLAYERS: Mark Richt
TEAMS: Georgia Bulldogs
If Georgia was planning to take the week off, coach Mark Richt merely had to throw out two words to get his players' attention. Louisiana-Monroe. Yes, the No. 7 Bulldogs are a huge favorite for Saturday night's game against Florida Atlantic, but Arkansas was in essentially the same position a week ago. Look what happened there - Louisiana-Monroe pulled off a shocking 34-31 upset, knocking the Razorbacks, who had been ranked right behind Georgia, all the way out of the Associated Press poll. At first glance, Florida Atlantic (1-1) doesn't look like much of a threat. The Owls have just two victories in the last 22 months, and one of those was an ugly 7-3 win over lower-division Wagner in the season opener. Georgia (2-0) opened as a 44 1/2-point favorite.

Georgia Bulldogs: Wherefore Art Thou Tight Ends?

Did I miss something or have the tight ends been very quiet so far this season? While Georgia has long been known for producing great players at the tight end position, the loss of both Aron White and Orson Charles to the NFL has seemingly prompted a movement away from targeting that position altogether. To be honest, it was a possibility that Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo...

Georgia's Jones never relishes success for long

After a stellar debut season at Georgia, Jarvis Jones could've moved on to the NFL. Instead, he came back for another year with the seventh-ranked Bulldogs, figuring there were still plenty he needed to work on. So, it shouldn't be a surprise that Jones didn't relish his remarkable performance against Missouri. He just wanted to focus on the things he didn't do...

Georgia LB Jarvis Jones sitting out vs. FAU

After a dominant performance that earned numerous defensive honors, Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones is sitting out against Florida Atlantic because of a nagging groin injury. The No. 7 Bulldogs decided this was a good time to rest Jones with the Owls followed on the schedule by seven straight Southeastern Conference games. Jones is in uniform and came out on the field for the coin...

Georgia's Jones expects to play

Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones is back at practice and expects to play when the fifth-ranked Bulldogs host Vanderbilt on Saturday. The junior sat out last week's 56-20 victory over Florida Atlantic, allowing him to rest a groin injury. But he made it clear Tuesday that he intends to play against the Commodores. Jones says he ''ready to get out there and just pick up...

Murray's big day leads Georgia over FAU

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- Aaron Murray passed for a career-best 342 yards and two touchdowns, also scored twice with short runs, and No. 7 Georgia bounced back from another slow start to blow out Florida Atlantic 56-20 on Saturday night. Playing without Jarvis Jones and two other defensive starters, Georgia (3-0) struggled in the first half to slow a Florida Atlantic team that scored...

FAU to meet No. 7 Georgia, then No. 1 Alabama

For $2 million, Florida Atlantic is getting two chances to knock off a storied college football program. Odds are, the Owls will be earning that money. Over the next two weekends, the Owls - a program with just two wins in the last 22 months - may as well be considered temporary members of the Southeastern Conference. They visit No. 7 Georgia (2-0) on Saturday, then hit the road...
