Disappointed with his team after being upset by Virginia at home last Thursday, Miami Hurricanes coach Al Golden ripped into his team on Monday. Appearing on 560 WQAM's Joe Rose Show, Golden lamented that too many of his players are "clock-punchers" who "still think this is intramurals." Golden did say some of his players, like QB Jacory Harris and WR Tommy Streeter, have been "working their tails off." Suggesting the bad habits of these clock-punchers are partly to blame for Miami's loss on Thursday, later Monday he said his players need to "take ownership" of this problem and use some "internal peer pressure" to get the clock-punchers in line. "If you're always looking for external affirmation, now what? What are you getting from the outside right now?" he added. This isn't the first time Golden lit into his own players.
