I’ve got to admit that I’m disappointed in my readers. The only crrrrrazzy comments I get are from Paco and I can’t really take him seriously no matter how vitriolic and strident he gets because of that one time where he put all of his personal information in a comment and his name wasn’t even Paco. Hi, Paco, if you’re reading this one. I’m disappointed in the lack of just absolute insanity in the comments for these things. Do I not give out enough of an “open to fighting in an alley with the top of a can” vibe? Because I’ll fight you in an alley with the top of a can if that’s what you want. I’ll even give you a ghosts of Heismans past and say Tebow over and over again. Tebow. TEBOW! All I really want in this world is for people to argue. So let’s start a-trollin’.

Look, this list is unnecessarily long because I’ve committed myself to reeling off the 10 names that catch my fancy in a given week. Yes, that’s a new thrust for this post but I like it as a hook and I’m sticking with it for the rest of this season. It is really the only way for me to give any sort of originality to my small stick at the bottom of the pile of blazing glory that is the Heisman-Editorial Complex. HP started this schtick and he’s the go-to guy for it. ESPN has some knockoff of him and every Football! columnist in the country has an imperative imposed-upon him from up high that there has to be a Heisman post or two mixed in with the normal detritus at least every once in a while. I don’t read Peter King but he probably has a Heisman column when he’s not link-baiting with draft whisperings (such sweet nothings they all are). So this is where I am in my corner of internet writing. (Remember when I used to write about screenwriting? I say to my old audience of dick-pill salesman.) Anyway, what I was getting to before I was so rudely interrupted by internal dialogue was this: there are really only 3 viable candidates for the Hesiman and it’s hard to argue that any single player has had a better season up to this point than the 3 main men. I’ve got a not-surprising surprise in store for you this week that is sort of a twist because of what I’m writing but I’ll take this opportunity to remind any potential new readers: I’m writing this list as a list of how my voting would go if I had a ballot. There are better places for “Who will win the Heisman?” and the synchronous nature between my thoughts and the pundit class as a whole are pretty much a new development for this year. It just so happens that this is the first year I’ve been posting things on this site so you’ll just have to believe me until (and if) I start writing these things next season. Also: this is a great place for semi-colons. Let’s begin then:
