I've been saying all year that no one will take Clemson seriously until they beat an elite opponent. The Tigers did just that on New Years Eve by taking down #8 LSU in the Chick-fil-A Bowl. Much of the credit is due to quarterback Tajh Boyd, who completed 72% of his passes for 346 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions. He also added another score with his feet. The junior had a remarkable 2012 season, leading the ACC in total offense and ranking 7th nationally. He completed 67.2% of his passes for 3,896 yards and 36 touchdowns. He also added 514 yards and 10 TDs on the ground. The Tigers finished the year at 11-2 and 11th in the AP poll, and with Boyd returning for his senior season there's no question he will be involved in the discussion for next year's Heisman.
