We've tried to give all the 2012 Heisman candidates a preseason place to shine with Highlight Monday, but somehow haven't included Marcus Lattimore yet. Unless you count this (sweet dreams, kid). As a true freshman in 2010 Lattimore racked up 1,197 yards and 17 TDs on the ground, and was a legitimate receiving threat out of the backfield with another 412 yards and 2 TDs through the air. He kept rolling in 2011, leading the Gamecocks to a 6-1 record and racking up 818 yards when the Stephen Garcia fiasco could have derailed the team, before suffering a season ending knee injury against Mississippi State.
Lattimore is back at 100 percent and actually has a dependable QB in Connor Shaw to take some of the heat off. That's good news for him, and really bad news for the rest of the SEC East. You can catch him Thursday night at 7 when the Gamecocks take on Vanderbilt to kick off the 2012 season.
