We've tried to give all the 2012 Heisman candidates a preseason place to shine with Highlight Monday, but somehow haven't included Marcus Lattimore yet. Unless you count this (sweet dreams, kid). As a true freshman in 2010 Lattimore racked up 1,197 yards and 17 TDs on the ground, and was a legitimate receiving threat out of the backfield with another 412 yards and 2 TDs through the air. He kept rolling in 2011, leading the Gamecocks to a 6-1 record and racking up 818 yards when the Stephen Garcia fiasco could have derailed the team, before suffering a season ending knee injury against Mississippi State. Lattimore is back at 100 percent and actually has a dependable QB in Connor Shaw to take some of the heat off. That's good news for him, and really bad news for the rest of the SEC East. You can catch him Thursday night at 7 when the Gamecocks take on Vanderbilt to kick off the 2012 season. (Photo: AP)

It is not yet. “I’m looking forward...

Safety Sheldon Royster has chosen to leave the South Carolina program less than a week from the beginning of the 2012 season. It is unclear where Royster may transfer. Gamecocks Football: 3 Days Until Kickoff

Oh boy...the beginning of South Carolina's 2012 football season is just 3 days until kickoff. 3 is the rank of South Carolina's total defense last season in the SEC.  It's also South Carolina's total defense rank in the country.  The Gamecocks finished just behind LSU and Alabama.  Carolina only allowed 267.7 yards per game.  This year's defense will be...

Gamecocks Football: 4 Days Until Kickoff

Dreams of BCS are beginning to invade my sleep as kickoff of Gamecocks football is not just 4 days away. South Carolina did many things well last season, but on several occassions they turned the ball over too many times.  On four seperate occasions USC turned the ball over four times in a game.  Not surprisingly, Carolina lsot two of those games: Auburn and Arkansas.  The Gamecocks...
