HOOVER, Ala. -- Without Jeremy Hill, who Les Miles says remains in a "legal entanglement," an expected strength of LSU's offense could be anything but. Miles said during Thursday's SEC Media Days that running back, who led the Tigers in rushing last season, remains indefinitely suspended after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge July 12. "He's been separated from this team and his teammates for the summer," Miles said. The sophomore was charged in a April 17 incident in which he punched a man outside of a bar in April. "We've visited with Jeremy Hill on a repeat basis, but the fact is that any team meetings, any workouts ... he's not allowed in the offices," Miles said. "We recognize there's an ongoing process that's going to be fulfilled." Hill has been allowed to remain out of jail on probation, but he was already on probation at the time of his arrest following a Jan. 2012 guilty plea to a misdemeanor stemming from a sexual relationship in 2010 with a then-14-year-old girl at his high school. Those charges delayed Hill's enrollment at LSU for a year. He ran for 755 yards and 12 touchdowns, taking over the lead role in the Tigers' backfield after Alfred Blue suffered a season-ending ACL injury during the third game of the year against Idaho. Blue, who ran for 270 yards and two TDs on 40 attempts before the injury, returns. But a Hill-less Tigers backfield would include just one other player, junior Kenny Hilliard, who saw more than one carry last season, would beg for a return of Blue's 2011 form when he ran for 539 yards and seven scores. "I suspect that if we enter the season without the abilities of Hill that we were will have need at the tailback position," Miles said. Only two other RBs remain on the roster in junior Terrence Magee, who played in nine games last season, with his only contribution coming in the form of one reception for seven yards, and redshirt freshman Jonathan Juneau.
