ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Twenty-seven up, twenty-seven down. No, Brady Hoke didn't pitch a perfect game Wednesday, but as a football coach, he had a perfect day. By noon, Hoke had received letters of intent from all 27 members of his star-studded recruiting class, led by four players given five stars by Scout.com. "This was a very exciting day, because we're very happy with this group of young men who have decided to play at the greatest university in the country," Hoke said. "It was also a very uneventful day, which is nice." The biggest name in the class is running back Derrick Green, who is ranked as the No. 1 running back and sixth-best prospect in the country. Michigan also picked up five-star recruits in top-ranked offensive guard in Pennsylvania's Patrick Kugler, the No. 3 quarterback in local product Shane Morris and the fourth-ranked safety in Ohio's Dymonte Thomas. More importantly, all four of them could play immediate roles. Green an...

New era of Michigan-Ohio State Domination?

Michigan-Ohio State has always been “The Game.” OSU and UM have always been the big boys of the Big Ten. But are we approaching a new era of clear-cut domination on the gridiron between the Wolverines and Buckeyes? Brady Hoke has brought an attitude to Michigan that reminds many of Bo, Moeller and Carr. In two seasons as head coach Hoke has already won a BCS Bowl. He beat Ohio...

Michigan signee Reon Dawson: I’ll be an Ohio State fan until I die

Reon Dawson is a three-star cornerback from Trotwood, Ohio who is headed to Michigan to play for Brady Hoke next season. However, the Wolverines were hardly his first choice. Growing up in Ohio, Dawson never envisioned himself in maize and blue. Most Ohio State fans don’t. “Until I die, I’m gonna be a Buckeye fan even though I’m going (to Michigan),” Dawson told the Dayton...

Ohio State football coaches do push-ups for saying “Michigan”

The Ohio State-Michigan football rivalry is definitely one of the better college rivalries in sports.  But over the past couple years, the schools have gotten cute (a little too cute for my liking).  They treat each other like they’re each others’ ex-boyfriends. Michigan head football coach Brady Hoke’s regime has started referring to Ohio State as “Ohio”…despite the...

With a consensus top-three recruiting class 1  under his belt with just one year with the Ohio State Buckeyes under his belt, the university’s head coach of football is now attempting to light a fire under the rest of the Big Ten who did not bear as much fruit on the recruiting trails. “It’s not only important, it’s essential,” Meyer said of improved conference recruiting...
