Illinois LB Jonathan Brown wins the award for cheap shot of the weekend after he kneed Northwestern OL Patrick Ward right in the junk, in full view of the referees. Brown was flagged for a personal foul, but was not tossed from the game. This morning Illinois coach Ron Zook announced that Brown would be suspended for a game, saying also that he was “extremely disappointed” in his sophomore linebacker’s actions.  As a football fan I can say that kneeing an opponent in the groin has no place in the game.  As a man, all I can say is, Brown should know better than to take a shot at another man’s junk. Period. [via Hot Clicks]
