The NCAA announced earlier today that it will reveal the recruiting infractions it believes Mississippi State committed surrounding the recruitment of defensive back Will Redmond.  If you recall, or cannot recall, here is some recall refresher, then-Mississippi State wide receivers coach Angelo Mirando resigned in last August over what initially was termed the always convenient blanket statement of "personal reasons." Turns out, the "personal reasons" related to him knowing about a Mississippi State booster's contact with a recruit (WILL REDMOND) in an effort to get said recruit to attend Mississippi State.  According to Byron De'Vinner, a 7-on-7 coach, the football equivalent of an AAU basketball coach, the Mississippi State booster gave money and benefits to Redmond, who eventually signed with State (SUCCESS!!), and did so with Mirando's knowledge and non-effort in preventing the giving of benefits. The good news for Mississippi State is that allegedly the knowledge on the coaching staff of the booster's activity didn't go past Mirando.  And it probably helps they forced Mirando out and immediately went to work in minimizing the damage the violation could cause. Oh, and let's not forget the other bit of good news brought on by the Tim Brewster era at Mississippi State, which burned hard and bright with social media recklessness rarely seen from coaches these days.  Had Mirando not been removed, we never would have had Brewster taking to Twitter and accusing Ole Miss coaches of cheating and lying. But, there will be bad news to come for the Bulldogs.  Barring gross incompetence on the part of the NCAA (GOOD ODDS ON THAT THOUGH), Mississippi State will be hit with some penalty for what the NCAA calls infractions that are "major in nature." Due to Mississippi State's cooperation in the investigation, one can assume (and we will!) that the penalties will put a limit an official recruiting visits and things of that ilk.  But, before you go feeling sorry for the Bulldogs over getting hit with penalties for an assistant coach operating on his own (OR WAS HE? - insert moon landing conspiracy rant-), remember this convenient FACT. The cover of a Mississippi State recruiting letter: And the hammer and sickle of the red commies of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics: THE UPCOMING PENALTIES ARE FOR THE RED, WHITE, AND BLUE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!  U-S-A!  U-S-A!  U-S-A!
