Sports Injury Alert:
Maryland Terrapins head football coach Randy Edsall announced that the Terps leading tackler Cole Farrand will be out for Saturday’s game against Boston College.
Farrand suffered a shoulder injury during Maryland’s 27-24 overtime win over Virginia Tech last week. This will be Farrand’s second game missed this season due to injuries. Farrand also did not play in the loss to Syracuse on November 9th. He received a concussion during a loss to Clemson the week before.
The 6-4 Eagles feature the nation’s leading running back in Andre Williams, a 6′-0″ 227 lb. senior. In 10 games so far Williams has rushed for 1,810 yds in 288 carries and 14 touchdowns. Williams averages 6.3 yds. per carry and 181 yds per game.
Maryland’s Farrand is averaging 8.3 tackles per game and the 6″-3″ 245 lb. junior was being counted on to help the 6-4 Terps attempt to slow down Williams. Terps coach Edsall said in a Washington Post article,
