The South Carolina Gamecocks could be without junior DE Jadeveon Clowney in their season opener. Clowney has a bruised shoulder. “If (Clowney’s shoulder) doesn’t come around real soon, we may play without him the first game,” head coach Steve Spurrier told the media. “We’ve got a bunch of hurt guys who act like they are really hurt so right now they may not play.” South Carolina is also dealing with hamstring injuries to receivers Bruce Ellington and Damiere Byrd.
