LOS ANGELES --- USC defensive end Devon Kennard confirmed through his Twitter account a torn pectoral muscle Friday morning.
Kennard reportedly tore the muscle during weight training on Thursday. He was not at the players only workouts on Friday but was seen walking around campus in a sling.
The expected timetable for a torn pectoral is generally 2-3 months and the injury could keep Kennard out for the entire season but he is hopeful for a speedy recovery and no timetable for his absence has been set according to his teammates.
I actually talked to him last night and asked him how it was looking, said USC wide receiver Robert Woods. He said hes still waiting for (MRI results) to come back in. He was like Just pray for me bro.
He definitely has strong faith and thats what I like about DK. Hes definitely on the bright side of things.
Woods described Kennards spirits as pretty up when they spoke.
