Southern California coach Lane Kiffin has picked quarterback Cody Kessler to start Saturday against Boston College. Kessler and Max Wittek have been competing for the starting job since the spring, but neither has been able to take hold of it. Kiffin did not announce his starting quarterback before the first two games of the season, choosing instead to reveal it at game time. Kessler has started both game for the Trojans (1-1), including last week's ugly 10-7 loss at home to Washington State. The sophomore is 18 for 32 for 136 yards with a touchdown pass and two interceptions. He ran for USC's only touchdown against Hawaii. Wittek has played in each game, going 8 for 18 for 90 yards with an interception.

Could Jeff Fisher replace Lane Kiffin at USC?

According to an article by BlackSportsOnline.com Lane Kiffin may have his days at USC numbered, and Jeff Fisher may be the favorite to replace him when and if he is shown the door. ESPN’s Pac-12 reporter, Ted Miller, told Paul Finebaum that current St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher would likely be the favorite to replace Kiffin. Fisher, a USC alum, I think would have to have...

USC fans use fire lanes to express frustration with Kiffin (Photo)

USC Trojans football fans are not happy after last week's 10-7 upset loss to Washington State. Lane Kiffin: ‘I’m getting used to the fire Kiffin chants’

Coming off starting last season Preseason #1 only to go 7-6, then losing to Washington State at home, Lane Kiffin’s seat is understandably hot. During the 4th quarter of last weeks loss, you could hear an audible “Fire Kiffin!” chant(see video below) in the crowd. Lane was asked about the chants in after the game: “You can’t worry about that,” Kiffin said, via AL.com...

Lane Kiffin denies USC players held meeting; USC players say otherwise

Lane Kiffin seems to have been caught being dishonest with the media once again. The USC Trojans football coach, whose head is wanted by the school’s fans, denied that the Trojans players held a players-only meeting on Sunday, the day after the team’s embarrassing 10-7 loss to Washington State. Kiffin denied this despite understanding that […]

Ducks could benefit from implosion at USC

Saturday was not a good day for Lane Kiffin and the USC Trojans. Losing at home 10-7 to the Washington State Cougars. Kiffin's squad was spiritless, directionless and inept on offense, managing just 14 first downs and 54 yards passing for the entire game against the Cougs, who were 3-9 last year, last in the PAC-12 North. By halftime of the game there were chants of "Fire...

Replacement candidates for Brown, Kiffin

Mack Brown and Lane Kiffin are both in extreme danger of losing their jobs. Both are coming off awful losses -- Texas at BYU and USC at home against Washington State -- that have shaken their programs to their core. If things continue in this direction, there's a good chance that both men are out, opening up two of the best jobs in the country at the same time. In 2011, I ranked...

USC AD Pat Haden: 'We got a long way to go here'

LOS ANGELES -- Lane Kiffin didn't mince words when he took the podium following USC's loss to Washington State on Saturday. He called it a "very disappointing day" for USC football. Marqise Lee Sets The Record Straight On The “Players Only Meeting…” Sort of.

The Internet collectively freaked out this morning when Lane Kiffin didn’t know that there was a USC players only meeting which happened. Immediately articles started popping up with speculation that this was the beginning of the end for Kiffin. While that may still be true, Marqise took to Twitter for the first time in over a week to put a sense of temporary calm in the minds...
