L Millz Is Irrelevant

In today's paper, Newsday catches up with aspiring rap mogul L Millz a.k.a. DA Edge a.k.a. Lastings Milledge, who angered his Met bosses last month with the release of a profanity-laden rap song. The once-highly-touted outfielder has been out since April after spraining ligaments in his foot, and is still several weeks away from returning to action. Says Milledge: "Once I get out on the field, it should move quickly." He may be right about that. With guys like Carlos Gomez and Ben Johnson blazing passed him on the depth chart, Milledge could be on the move to the first team that offers a sack of baseballs and a pack of Big League Chew.
