Draft Zone Spotlight: Ray Shipman, LB, University of Central Florida
Ray Shipman is a very special athlete, we are not talking about a four year starting linebacker who has all the talent in the world. He was voted onto the C-USA All-Academic Team, and started 12 games on the season, amassing 91 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss. What makes this more special is the fact that he...
Florida adds Townsend to 2013 class

Florida's Yeguete needs knee surgery
No. 2 Florida will be without forward Will Yeguete for at least the rest of the regular season following knee surgery.
Yeguete will have arthroscopic surgery Friday to remove loose bodies. Yeguete has dealt with tendinitis all season, but coach Billy Donovan says his knee had ''significant swelling'' in recent weeks.
Yeguete, usually the first player off the bench...
Zunino excited about 2013 Gators
The Gators will be under new player leadership this season after last year’s senior class graduated and the junior class was wiped out by the MLB Draft. There are just two seniors — Cody Dent and Vickash Ramjit — left on the roster. Former Florida catcher Mike Zunino thinks the Gators could still surprise. He saw the young talent last season and expects it to blossom this spring.

No. 2 Florida faces road test at Arkansas
The Gators have heard all about the home dominance Arkansas displays. The Razorbacks have lost just five of their last 38 home games since the middle of the 2010-11 season. Sandwiched in there is a 30-point thumping by Florida last season, easily the worst loss for Arkansas at home in the last three seasons and the fourth biggest win for Florida ever in a conference road game.
Filling needs: Linebacker
The Gators lost three linebackers last season — two to graduation and one to an early departure for the NFL — and set out to fix it. They added four linebackers in the 2013 class, but the benefit is that three of them are already on campus and will go through spring practice. The linebackers were productive last season, and the Gators will still have talent at the position next year.
Preparing to play without Yeguete
Florida’s worst fears turned into a reality on Thursday. After losing their first came in conference play on Tuesday at Arkansas, the Gators will now be forced to find a way to play without junior forward Will Yeguete. He will have arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Friday morning with hopes to return for the postseason. Yeguete is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks while recovering.
Signing Day Notebook
Five-star running back Alex Collins has yet to sign his Letter of Intent. Miami and FSU battle for south Florida recruits. The Gators gain two DLs. All this and more from one crazy national signing day from the state of Florida.
