Despite having three very capable running backs in the backfield, I think it’s safe to say that the strength of the Louisville offense is Teddy Bridgewater and the wide receiving group. Rutgers also has a solid running game; however they’re leading rusher, Paul James, has been sidelined in recent weeks and won’t play against Louisville on Thursday. In James’ absence, Kyle Flood has had to rely on senior quarterback Gary Nova and the passing game.
Not only do both teams rely heavily on their passing game, but bother teams also do a great job at stopping the run. Rutgers ranks No. 3 in the country allowing just 70.60 rushing yards a game while Louisville ranks No. 4 allowing 79.60.
