PLAYERS: Matt Barkley
TEAMS: USC Trojans
While cruising around the interwebs, I came upon a number of mock drafts, and by and large, they all had one factor in common. Matt Barkley, largely considered the second best quarterback prospect in this year's draft, slid down the board, with some even dropping him into the second round. The idea that there could only be one quarterback taken in the first round of the draft is an odd thought considering recent years, but the fact of the matter is that's not going to happen. There are too many teams that need quarterbacks, and the position is too important to risk not getting "your man." Matt Barkley had a very rough final year with USC. He slipped from being the potential top pick in the draft to possibly falling out of the first round. All that being said, the potential for him actually dropping into the second round seems unlikely at best. If it does appear that Barkley is heading towards the top of the second round, it seems far more likely that a ...

Matt Barkely: NFL Combine Will be Biggest test of my Life

USC quarterback Matt Barkley entered the 2012 college football season with the opportunity to be the #1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and a good shot at the National Title as the #1 team. Fast forward to now and Barkely and the Trojans limped to a 7-6 season and the quarterback’s play [...]

Matt Barkley Says The NFL Combine Will Be Biggest Test Of His Life

Former USC quarterback Matt Barkley went from possible #1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, to a guy that has to prove he won’t be a bust like past Trojan quarterbacks. After stumbling through a 7-6 season and a shoulder injury that kept him out the final two games of his career, Barkley knows he has a ton to prove. Barkley told the Pensacola News Journal, that the NFL Combine...

Can Matt Barkley Break The Trojan Curse?

USC quarterback Matt Barkley is one of the top quarterbacks available in the 2013 NFL Draft. Mock Drafts have Barkley being the second or third best QB option depending on who's mock draft you look at. Either way you slice it, Barkley is going to have to buck an ugly trend that has preceeded him prior to his NFL eligibility. It is really nothing that he did on his own. It is...

Some ******* AFC scouting director contends Matt Barkley and Kellen Moore are physically comparable

Belittling the haggard Trojan prior to April’s NFL Draft, one AFC scouting director nonsensically told the NFL Network’s Albert Breer that USC quarterback Matt Barkley is physically comparable to the Detroit Lions’ Kellen Moore. The 6-foot-2, 230 pound Barkley, who … Continue reading →
