Teddy Bridgewater made his pitch earlier in the week to try to convince running back Michael Dyer to come to Louisville and team up with him to help create something special. It appears that it helped in the decision-making process for the former Auburn standout, as Dyer decided late Thursday that his intentions are to play for the Cardinals. Just how impactful Dyer can be is a question mark. His first two seasons at Auburn, he showed great potential with back-to-back 1000 seasons, including an MVP performance in the BCS National Championship Game. But Dyer hasn’t played since 2011, and anytime away from the game can lead to rust. Dyer left Auburn after his sophomore season after being suspended due to a violation of team rules. Shorly after his transfer to Arkansas State, he was pulled over for speeding by police and found in possession of a firearm and marijuana. Dyer was released shortly after former head coach Gus Malzahn reviewed the tape. Following his incidents at both Auburn and Arkansas State, Dyer transferred to Arkansas Bapitist College to put his life in order. He did not play football, and earned himself an associate degree.
