Michigan and Purdue both enter their first game of Big Ten play this Saturday.Purdue is coming off of a 51-41 victory over Marshall, and Michigan is coming off a disappointing 13-6 loss to Notre Dame back on September 22. Purdue has opened the eyes of many around the country with it's very impressive 3-1 start to the season. Whereas Michigan has been a bit of a disappointment at 2-2, those two losses are at the hands of No. 1 Alabama, and No. 9 Notre Dame. This will be a shootout that comes down to the final possesionBoth Michigan and Purdue can score nearly at will. In its three wins the lowest point total for the Boilermakers has been 48. While Michigan has struggled a bit in the early going the firepower is still there on the offense for the Wolverines to be in a shootout like I think this game will be. With these high-powered offenses this game has the potential to go the way of last week's Baylor-West Virginia shootout. Michigan has a slightly more experienced defense g...

Michigan Football to open Big Ten season at Purdue

Michigan Football (2-2) will begin their quest for a Big Ten title with a trip to Purdue on Saturday afternoon. Kick off is scheduled for 4pm with TV coverage on the Big Ten Network. Boiler Up Purdue made it through their first 4 games, not exactly a juggernaut schedule, with a winning record for the first time since 2007. They achieved that feat by beating up on Eastern Kentucky...

Friday Focus: Michigan Offensive Coordinator Al Borges

Well, breathing time is over.  It’s back to work for Team 133 as they return to the road to take on the surprise Purdue Boilermakers in West Lafayette and begin the B1G season. Purdue is 3-1, boasts the 22nd best rush defense in the country, has eight interceptions and is another team that has a very stout defensive line led by monster senior Kawann Short.   So once again the...

"A throw away can be a good play" (w/video)

Michigan senior quarterback Denard Robinson has been the center of scrutiny and praise throughout his career as a Wolverine. With really high highs and very low lows, if Michigan hopes to win the Big Ten, Robinson will need to find a middle ground. **With VIdeo**

SaturdayEdge.com's Best Bet for Week Six

Michigan – Purdue U 59 I’ve seen all four Michigan games this season and I’ll assume that HC Brady Hoke knows what he is doing in trying to turn Denard Robinson into a pocket passer, but I’ll admit I am not seeing it. Robinson definitely does not look comfortable in the pocket and his passing numbers have suffered. His pass efficiency is down, his completion percentage is...

A broken record: Michigan’s run offense

The Michigan Wolverines run offense is a broken record. Week after week everyone one keeps talking about how they have to get it together. I, myself are guilty as that as well. If they do not get something going the B1G schedule is going to get real rough. With Denard Robinson having 59.8 percent of their rushing yards through the first four games, teams will be looking to dial...

Borges: “We can win the Big Ten” (w/video)

Michigan offensive coordinator Al Borges believes that if the Wolverines play the way they’re capable of they can win the Big Ten—however, Denard Robinson and the offense will need to be much better in order to do it.

Michigan searching for offensive rhythm

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- For Michigan, the real season starts on Saturday. Sure, there might have been Wolverines fans dreaming of a berth in the national-championship game, but those were dashed pretty quickly by Alabama. After that, the goal has been what Brady Hoke always said it was -- a trip to Indianapolis for a shot at the Big Ten title. If Michigan wants to get there, they are...

Michigan Wolverines at Purdue Boilermakers College Football Week 6 Big Ten Preview

Follow @Dan Vasta Gregory Shamus/Getty Images If the Purdue Boilermakers want to lock up their division then a victory over Michigan and Wisconsin at home would be a great start. The Maize and Blue come up first though, and the team must put together a much better effort than they did against Marshall last week. Ricardo Allen returned his fourth INT for a TD, which is now a Purdue...
