After a horrific performance against Akron last week, Michigan came to Connecticut looking to redeem themselves.  Unfortunately for the Wolverines, they turned in another poor performance and barely escaped with a win over the lowly UConn Huskies. The only real highlight of the game came during the 4th quarter when Michigan linebacker Desmond Morgan made this ridiculous one-handed interception.  Morgan returned the ball to the 12-yard line and set up the Michigan tying touchdown with 9:55 left in the game.  Michigan would add a field goal to escape with a 24-21 win. Video: Michigan LB Desmond Morgan’s One-Handed INT May Have Just Saved The Wolverines

Michigan is 3-0 and ranked 15th in the country. UConn is 0-2 and has very much underwhelmed so far in 2013. But tonight, the two teams appear to be pretty evenly matched in a great game at Rentschler Field. The Huskers had a 21-14 lead in the fourth quarter, but Michigan just stole all of the momentum with a serious interception off of Chandler Whitmer. Linebacker Desmond Morgan...

Michigan Football: Grading the Wolverines performance at UConn

Michigan Football survived another scare, this time in a narrow victory at UConn. Let’s take  look at the position groups and grade them out. Which units played well and which ones struggled? Quarterbacks: D Devin Gardner continued to struggle this past Saturday, especially in the turnover department. He often missed easy throws and held on to the ball far too long. Gardner was...

No. 15 Michigan dodges upset, beats UConn 24-21

Fitzgerald Toussaint ran for 120 yards and two touchdowns, Desmond Morgan made a one-handed interception in the fourth quarter that swung the game Michigan's way and the 15th-ranked Wolverines dodged another upset with a 24-21 victory against Connecticut on Saturday night. A week after Michigan needed a last-second stand to hold off Akron, Brendan Gibbons kicked a 21-yard field...

Act 2: Michigan Wolverines Survive @ Huskies

Last week in The Big House, Michigan was ambushed by a way overmatched and historically, well not that good, Akron Zips football team and Blue was very fortunate to have pulled out the 28-24 victory at home. Now, going on the road for the first time in 2013 to face a UConn Huskies team whom by many accounts was also considered to be not that good, left followers of the Maize and...

Pregame Final Five Thoughts: Michigan @ Connecticut

Hello Hokeamaniacs! After our scare last weekend in The Big House against Akron, I’m pretty sure that Hoke and his staff have been putting the team through the ringer in practice this week. And as a result, we shouldn’t see a sloppy performance this Saturday in the first road game of the year for the Maize and Blue when they travel to Connecticut to take on the Huskies in primetime...

Michigan football survives another scare, this time at UConn

If you watched Michigan narrowly defeat Akron last week, then you saw more of the same on Saturday against UCONN. The Wolverines made it through their first road test of the season, beating the Huskies 24-21. Despite improving its record to 4-0, Michigan has a lot to work on after the past two performances. Luckily for them, they have a bye week coming up before Big Ten play starts...

Michigan Football news, stats, stars from UConn win

Many people, myself included, expected Michigan would shake the dust off from last week’s closer than expected win and flex their muscle at the expense of the UConn Huskies. Instead the Wolverines turned ball over 4 times and had to scratch and claw their way to a 24-21 victory over Connecticut. The comedy of errors was reaching epic proportions early in the second half as the...

Michigan narrowly avoids upset again

Fitzgerald Toussaint ran for 120 yards and two touchdowns, Desmond Morgan made a one-handed interception in the fourth quarter that swung the game Michigan's way and the 15th-ranked Wolverines dodged another upset with a 24-21 victory against Connecticut on Saturday night.

OH HAIL NO! NOT AGAIN.

For the second week in a row Michigan was heavily favored.  For the second week in a row Michigan barely escaped with a win.  For the second week in a row Michigan fielded a team that was not the team that manhandled Notre Dame.  For the second week in a row Michigan won but dropped in the polls.  For the second week in a row Devin Gardner had too many turnovers and lacked confidence...

Michigan in Trouble

The Michigan Wolverines look to be in trouble against winless Connecticut.  The Huskies have Michigan on the ropes leading 7-21 early in the 3rd Quarter. The post Michigan in Trouble appeared first on NCAA Football Zone.

Another Squeaker! Michigan 24, UConn 21

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Fitzgerald Toussaint ran for 120 yards and two touchdowns, and the 15th-ranked Wolverines dodged another upset with a 24-21 victory against Connecticut on Saturday night.

By the numbers: Making the case for Spike Albrecht

Spike Albrecht wasn’t supposed to play high-major Division I basketball. He wasn’t supposed to score 17 points in the National Championship game. And he’s not supposed to start at point guard next season for John Beilein’s Michigan team. But whenever he was called upon as a freshman, Spike Albrecht answered the bell. His National Championship game performance – 17 points...

UConn wants Michigan to feel at home, sells gear

The Connecticut Huskies are hosting the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday night. Entering the game Michigan was 3-0 while Connecticut was 0-2. That is ok though as UConn pulled out the Michigan gear to sell at the game. Hey make a profit anyway you can! UConn official merchandising stands selling Michigan gear in stadium

It appears that the Connecticut Huskies are prepared to be in the minority tonight at Rentschler Field when they take on the Michigan Wolverines.  The Huskies official merchandising stands are actually selling Michigan apparel inside their own stadium.  This has to be a first and I never thought I would see anything like this. 5 Takes From UConn

This guy... Thank you MVictors. Taking the high road I can be like everyone else and come on here to write about all of the short-comings of this team the last 2 weeks, but that's not what I'm going to do. It's easy to pile on the criticism of the O-line and Devin's struggles, but I don't see it the same way most folks do. What I've seen...
