After a season of so many close games and many of which ending as close losses, Michigan State still managed to finish the season 6-6 and get to a bowl game. It was quite a disappointing season for the Spartans, who came into this season with such high expectations, ranked as high as 13 in some of the preseason polls. However, Michigan State failed to close out games on several occasions and thus, sputtered to that 6-6 record. Throughout the entire season, Michigan State relied heavily upon the services of running back Le’Veon Bell. The junior from Columbus, Ohio had a career season for the Spartans, rushing for 1648 yards on 350 carries and 11 touchdowns. And on Sunday the team accepted a bid to play in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl against TCU (7-5). TCU is a team coming off of their first season in the Big 12 conference. The Horned Frogs started the season 4-0 but had a mediocre season at best, partially due to the fact that they switched quarterbacks midway through the season.     Nevertheless, this game should turn out to be a good matchup as both teams have impressive defenses on their side. Michigan State ranks 10th in points against (16.3) while TCU stands in a not too shabby 34th (23.1). But all things set aside, the Michigan State football season has come down to this. A bowl game to end their season with a chance to end on a good note. “We’re very excited to be in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl,” Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio said. For Michigan State, it is their sixth straight year of making it to a bowl game and if they win this one, it would be their second straight year of doing so.     The game will be played on Saturday, December 29 in Tempe, Arizona at Sun Devil Stadium. Kickoff will be scheduled for 10:15 PM EST.   follow me on twitter @squandarunner
