Had it reportedly not been for the heroics of Michigan State DT Micajah Reynolds, an 18-year-old Lansing, Mich., teenager likely wouldn't have survived the multiple gunshot wounds he suffered in the early morning of July 31. Reynolds says he was driving home early last Wednesday when he saw the teenager waving at him in his rearview mirror. After apparently being shot three times, the man was desperate for medical attention, leading Reynolds to pull over and apply pressure to his wounds while they waited for an ambulance. "The streets were pitch-black, and nobody was around in the street late at night," Reynolds told MLive.com . "He was bleeding out all over me. ... I'm trying to keep him awake the whole time. He's telling me, 'I'm going to die. It's over.' I'm like, 'Bro, you're sitting here talking to me. You're going to be OK.' I was trying to downplay it, but it was pretty bad." Although the report says he lost an eye, the man survived the gunshot wounds he suffered to the head, arm and torso thanks to Reynolds' quick thinking. "It makes me value my time here," Reynolds said when recalling that night. "It makes me value the fact that I'm not on the streets. I'm not dealing with all the different things that I could have gotten into. It just makes me thankful for what I have." We're guessing the teenager he saved is feeling pretty grateful as well.
