South Carolina and Michigan will face off for just the third time ever in the upcoming Outback Bowl. Michigan head coach Brady Hoke talked about the Gamecocks on Monday as they begin to prepare for South Carolina.

The BCS 18th ranked Michigan Wolverines (8-4, 6-2 Big Ten) will be making their second consecutive bowl appearance under the leadership of coach Brady Hoke in as many years and for the second year they will play a bowl game in January.

Well, it's not quite the Capital One, but it's better than the Gator. Either way it's a New Year's Day bowl in Florida against an SEC opponent. Who's that opponent? South Carolina. It's Hoke versus the old ball coach.
I like it. It's a good opponent, and it will be a tough challenge for this Michigan squad. But...
Michigan junior fullback Stephen Hopkins has left the team.
Wolverines coach Brady Hoke made the announcement Monday, but declined further comment.
Hopkins started in four of eight games this year and didn't get the ball once. He had 48 carries for 194 yards rushing and four touchdowns in his first two seasons.
