ORLANDO, FL - JANUARY 1: Head coach Joe Paterno of the Penn State Nittany Lions leaves the field following the 2010 Capital One Bowl against the LSU Tigers at the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium on January 1, 2010 in Orlando, Florida. Penn State won 19-17. (Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)

Our favorite courtroom live tweeter, Newsday’s Jim Baumbach (@jimbaumbach), is at it again today via the preliminary hearing for Tim Curley and Gary Schultz in the Jerry Sandusky sex-capade case. First up, Mike McQueary to explain what he saw and heard in that shower back in 2002. Of course the government is hinging its case on McQueary’s witness testimony and what was said to Joe Paterno about the shower incident.

Of course many observers feel as if McQueary has changed his position on what he saw and told Paterno. Today, the Penn State assistant put to rest what was going on, according to Baumbach’s tweets.

During cross-examination:

McQueary repeats that he is not 100 percent sure sex was taking place but he believes it did based on positions he saw and sounds he heard.

McQueary says when he made eye contact with Sandusky, Sandusky’s facial expression was “somewhat blank.”

McQueary said his first thought when he heard slapping was “Should I be here? I wanna get out of here.” His first sight was through mirror.

As for his responses to prosecutor questioning:

McQueary said he personally found it “troubling” that Sandusky was still around but never raised the issue with his bosses.

McQueary: “No question in my mind I conveyed (in meeting) I saw Jerry and a boy in the showers in extreme sexual acts and it was wrong.”

McQueary: “I know they saw me. They looked directly in my eyes.”

McQueary “shockingly and surprisingly” saw Sandusky behind a young boy in shower. Said he “hastily” turned to his locker and put away shoes.

Of course more to follow but this should sufficiently make you sick for the rest of the day. Be sure to follow Baumbach for more of the testimony.
