Via Gridiron Grit:
Alabama assistant strength and conditioning coach Corey Harris has been fired for the loan he gave to star safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, according to a report via the Tuscaloosa News’ Aaron Suttles.
Harris was suspended indefinitely for the violation back in October after providing a short-term loan which amounted to under $500 to Clinton-Dix after his car was broken into in late June. Clinton-Dix served a two-game suspension before returning to the team.
In an excerpt from the Tuscaloosa News report, an Alabama investigation led to the uncovering of deeper issues:
Upon investigating the matter at the time, the Alabama compliance office discovered that Harris had a connection to a representative of a sports agent. UA’s internal investigation has found no indication that Clinton-Dix has had contact with any agent or agent representative. Efforts to reach Harris were unsuccessful.
Clinton-Dix served a two-game suspension as a result before returning to the field. The junior safety and projected 2014 NFL Draft first round pick currently ranks fourth on the team with 40 tackles and has a pair of interceptions on the season.
A.J. McCarron’s girlfriend, Katherine Webb, has not been shy about voicing her opinion on whether her boyfriend should be considered for the Heisman Trophy in 2013. It looks like his mother shares the same sentiment. Bonner has changed her Twitter avatar photo to a picture of herself doing the famous “Heisman pose”. We have a feeling that she’s not advocating herself for...
Earlier this week on The Dan Patrick Show, Patrick was asked if he could name the last three Heisman winners that were number one draft picks and members of the NFL Hall of Fame. Neither he nor his Danettes could do so. The reason they were unable to name one? They couldn’t get past the fact the Heisman was once an award given to players other than the quarterback and the sure...
The week before one of the biggest Iron Bowls ever, AJ McCarron is unhappy with… Cracker Barrel. The Alabama Crimson Tide quarter back AJ McCarron tweeted: The @CrackerBarrel on exit 76 in Tuscaloosa management is really bad and I feel sorry for the company with such a good rep. Lost my respect! I guess […]
Alabama’s game against Chattanooga earlier Saturday afternoon was a bit of a snoozer – the Tide blanked the Mocs, 49-0, in its final tuneup before the Iron Bowl matchup against Auburn next week. But there was one significant moment during the affair, at least for the McCarron family. Quarterback A.J. completed a pass to his brother, Corey, in the third quarter of the contest...
The World Wide Web has been great for bloggers and journalists around the world, but at the same time it has been a pain in the behind. It has forced them to be quick to judge what is news; often before being able to vet the information. With the public's thirst for more it has forced them to take things that are not news and present it as something that people must see.
AJ McCarron almost certainly will finish the day with more wins than any other Alabama quarterback. C.J. Mosley is probably on his way to becoming a two-time All-America linebacker.
Those two and six other senior starters - and possibly a few underclassmen - will play their final game at Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday against Chattanooga. It might be the only piece of drama in a...
A.J. McCarron completed a pass to brother Corey during the Alabama Crimson Tide's Senior Day thrashing of Chattanooga.

1. A.J McCarron
You can call him Mr. Clutch, The ultimate winner, or the bow-tie but whatever you call McCarron make sure you respect Number 10 of Alabama. Alabama dominated UT-Chatanooga like they were suppose to on their senior day in T-town Saturday (49-0). AJ had 171 yards and two touchdowns on 13 of 16 passing. McCarron may not wow you with his numbers but he can flat-out earn...
Alabama head coach Nick Saban demands a lot from his players and expects that they’ll be prepared both mentally and physically come game day. The guys over at The Weather Channel have taken notice. Check out this hilarious conversation between whoever runs TWC’s Twitter account and SBNation’s Spencer Hall from late last night.
It appears that Saban really wants to gain every...

the senior linebacker was named one of five finalists for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and one of four finalists for the Rotary Lombardi Award.
For the most part, Alabama Coach Nick Saban was happy with what he saw from his top-ranked Crimson Tide during its dominating, 49-0 victory over Chattanooga Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. In short, the seventh-year Tide mentor saw a lot to like, and a little to improve upon.
AJ McCarron passed for two touchdowns and became No. 1 Alabama's winningest quarterback in Saturday's 49-0 victory over Chattanooga.
McCarron completed 13 of 16 passes for 171 yards before leaving one drive into the second half of his final game at Bryant-Denny Stadium for the Crimson Tide (11-0). He improved to 36-2 as a starter, breaking a tie with Jay Barker for the school...
When Kevin Norwood pulled in a 28-yard touchdown pass from fellow senior AJ McCarron to end the third quarter of Alabama’s 49-0 win over Chattanooga, it marked the fourth consecutive game Norwood had scored. He now has 11 career touchdowns, six this season.
