With Alabama crushing Notre Dame from the outset, ESPN desperately needs some way to keep viewers, and apparently their broadcasters, invested in the game.  Enter A.J. McCarron's girlfriend, Miss Alabama Katherine Webb.  Seeing Webb on screen gave Brent Musburger the most excitement he had seen in the first quarter: "Wow you quarterbacks get all the good looking women, what a beautiful woman, whoa!  If you're a youngster in Alabama, start getting the football out and throw it around the backyard with pops." Sadly, it looks like this will be the most memorable moment of the 2013 BCS National Championship Game.  Jenn Sterger must be so jealous. (video via cjzero)

  • Im not complaining none looking at miss Alabama, The chick looks pretty hot to me and should be shown to us tv viewers
  • What a total and complete idiot!! Is HE going to be reprimanded for his boorish and inappropriate (not to mention inaccurate and untrue) comments? The old fool must be drunk or something, because this h o h o h o bag looks like a man in drag. At the very least like a female white gorilla.Grow the f*ck up and stop being so offensive, insulting and just plain wrong. What a nice thing to say to the little kids, huh Brent--you total moron
  • Damn your the one to talk about growing up and not being so offensive
  • i love how you bitch about them calling her hot and you saying they need to grow up, but yet you bitch worse than a woman when its that time of month. How about you calm down and grow up yourself. Im sure you are a notre Dame fan and your butt hole is hurt. but know need to call a woman a hoe. Im sure your mother raised you better than that.
  • You must be a woman who is missing teeth and about 40 pounds overweight. And don't talk about growing up when you just spewed all that BS. The fact is she is a beautiful woman and only a fool like you would be offended because someone happened to stress that fact. And besides, why does the fact that a man thinks a woman is attractive immediately have to mean an interest in sex. A gay man would no doubt agree she is attractive but would not see her in a sexual way because of his preference. You are an idiot...PERIOD!!!
  • So let me guess seesthetruth, your ugly and overweight and that's why you found it offensive that Musberger commented on the fact that she is attractive. Sorry The moron is you not Musberger. His comments were truthful, she is attractive. Why is it that when a man says a woman is beautiful or attractive that it automatically means they are interested in sex. I'm sure a gay man would agree that she is attractive but due to his sexual preference would not be interested in her in that way. Clowns like you need to grow up and stop being offended by every little thing that others say.
  • For some reason the Yard deleted the first comment and then put it back up, that's why there are 2 comments directed at seesthetruth(which she doesn't of course).
  • The quarterback and his roomie center need to kiss and makeup. they are an embarassment to college football.
  • She is fine.
  • If you don't like that, you don't like nothing. She certainly looked better than Notre Dame.If she looks like a man to you, you been hanging out with too many tvs.
  • Men.....give us a break.....get your mind out of the gutter......at least in sports...if you can!! She did not ask for these ridiculous comments from some low life 'sports caster'.................go home to your wife......be grateful that some poor dowdy woman at home will even put up with your ignorant way of seeing things. Brent Musburger is obviously doing 'without'....and who can blame his poor wife????
  • O.k....so saying a woman is a beautiful is now insulting? I don't think that counts as his mind being in the gutter. Lighten up.
  • See my comment above directed at the avatar name seesthetruth...the response is fitting for you as well you moron. Get a life you idiot. If Musberger had said he thought she was a fine piece of ass then he would be wrong, where I grew up saying a woman is beautiful or attractive is....A COMPLIMENT!!!!
  • I am in full agreement with "seethetruth". The flap jaw has gotten to old and all of his inaccuracies need to be addressed. He complains about bad calls and all of his hype and when proven wrong just blows it off as if he is the 8th wonder of the world. Time for the sand pile.
  • Musburger and other clowns referring to the picture of Ms. Webb have little to go on in assessing her that is not cosmetic. Even this is minimal and includes only her face. Nothing about her personality, intellect, disposition, and character or the rest of her physique for that matter. Not a good night for the Irish and judgment of superficial males generally.
  • Then yo are an IDIOT also.
  • McMusburger comments concerning "Miss Alabama" were a tad bit too wierd for me. As a father of 4 girls, whose youngest is about the same age as Miss Alabama, I found the tone and inference of his comments to be not only be disgusting, but "old man under the raincoat", sickening as well. It is just another in a long line of ESPN's allowed degenerate attitude toward women, whether it is done by an in-studio host, play-by-play personnel, or an overall management created work atmosphere that is somehow allowed to persist! It must stop now!
  • As mentioned, many do not know this young woman & simply pass judgment on this sole TV perception.
I ‘ve known Ms Webb since she was about ten years old here in Phenix City. You saw her everyday self; she’s always a very posed and smartly dressed. After all, her interest led her into fashion design.
She did not put-on-the-glam for the camera! And she’s not arm candy… They met at a social function where the two stood heads above their surroundings. She’s tall and he’s tall.
She’s there to support her guy & knew not that Musberger was going to gush like he did. The one-sided game needed some “interest” and the tweeting frenzy got her more attention while they were on the air.
  • Musburger has some serious issues and should address them. He is a douchebag plan and simple. I want to puke when I hear his voice and rude biased comments on the TV. But this only my opinion...
  • Some of you need to remove that stick you have stuck in your asses. All he said was she was beautiful. Relax!
  • From the picture I don't see the big deal. I'm a huge admirer of attractive women and I wouldn't have given her second glance.
I used to think it was the men that were shallow, now I'm picking up on the fact that women are more concerned with status than anything else.
  • to me his girlfriend is not a bad looling girl. We should all stop hating. I did not watch the game I fell asleep but I'm a pro football fan and If i'm watching a game I would not want to here about how good a QB girlfriend look. Maybe Musburger was saying more about himself then the girl. Maybe he is horney who knows. All in all its about football not good looking chicks.
  • Wow yes she's hot I'll bet AJ has alot of fun banging her she'll go far I'm sure with those looks
  • She is beautiful ,,she can easily compete as Miss USA or Miss Universe...
  • I see that all "the heavy Clan" have taken their time to talk trash about Katherine Weebb! maybe if you loose some weight you too can date a QB !!!
  • Okay guys she beautiful but her **** stinks just like yours.
  • Trying to make something out of nothing!! Not inappropriate at all. She is certainly attractive, no issue there. No lewd or classless remarks either. The game is certainly going Alabama's way...everything is going the quarterback's way...and to top it all off...he can't seem to lose in his off-field life either!! Some humor and silliness in advising youngsters to play quarterback on a national championship football team if they hope to befriend a swell looking lassie should have just caused a little momentary smile and chuckle...then move on..and back to the game!! It was fine!!
  • Well said McCune, people need to lighten up. As a society we are beginning to lose our minds with all this nit picking over every little thing.

Which teams are most squarely on the bubble?

It’s January 27. Super Bowl week also marks the run-up to college basketball insanity. League titles for the most part will be won or lost in the month of February. Contenders and pretenders will show themselves with road wins and home losses. It’s part of what makes the sport so much fun. A large part of the debate doesn’t revolve around who the best teams are, especially...

Jerry Rice: Asterisk needed if Patriots win Super Bowl

Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice is the latest former NFL player to come out and question whether a potential New England Patriots victory in Super Bowl XLIX would be legitimate. “I think you have to really put an asterisk on it (a Super Bowl win), because this is going to follow them, you know, for the rest of their lives, because when you look at it, when people go back...

Winners and losers of the Senior Bowl

With fewer underclassmen declaring for the 2015 NFL Draft, what better way to see what this class has to offer than at the Senior Bowl on Saturday? The game produced several strong performers, but as most know, it is the performance through the week at practice for the scouts that makes or breaks an NFL prospect’s Senior Bowl as a whole. With this in mind, here is a list of...

Report: NFL approved under-inflated balls from Patriots

Many have questioned the role of the officials in Deflategate, and rightfully so. A huge part of the NFL’s investigation will be determining if the New England Patriots’ game balls were tested, approved and then had air taken out of them. According to one Boston sports radio station, only some of that happened. 98.5 The...Read More
