Murray St. powers past Austin Peay for a 31-3 win

Associated Press  |  Last updated October 19, 2013
Jaamal Berry rushed for 146 and two touchdowns to lead Murray St. to a 31-3 homecoming victory over Austin Peay Saturday. Berry's two first-half scores gave Murray State (5-3, 3-1 Ohio Valley) the early lead. Chase Dunlap drilled a 37-yard field goal for Austin Peay (0-7, 0-3) just before half time. The Racers defense took over in the second half, shutting out the Governors. Murray State's Maikhail Miller was efficient through the air, going 19 of 22 for 160 yards and a touchdown. Walter Powell was his favorite target, hauling in 6 catches for 59 yards and a score. Powell is now the Murray State's all-time leader in receiving yards. Tim Phillips led Austin Peay with 123 yards on 26 carries. Quarterback Timarious Mitchell was less fortunate, throwing for only 50 yards and an interception. Austin Peay has now lost 22 straight road games, dating back to Sept. 18, 2010.
