The 2012 season looked promising for the Tennessee Volunteers. After a bit of an up and down past two years in Knoxville, many people predicted that 2012 would be the coming out party for head coach Derek Dooley and top quarterback Tyler Bray. Dooley was seen as a young up and coming coach, while Bray was being viewed as a top NFL quarterback prospect within the next two years. Unfortunately for both, this could be their final seasons wearing the orange and white of the Volunteers. Which is really bad for Dooley. What will he do with all of those orange chinos? Those things are stylish. For Bray, it may not be as big of a deal, as he will be eligible for the 2013 NFL Draft after this season, although his stock may have taken a bit of a hit this season. After beginning the 2012 season 3-1, Tennessee has dropped three straight games in the conference, all to teams ranked in the BCS Standings. That puts Dooley’s all time record at Tennessee at 0-14 against teams ranked in the Top 25 po...

Derek Dooley denies resignation rumors. Also, Derek Dooley has a potty mouth.

Embattled Tennessee head football coach Derek Dooley was asked about a story published on Mr. SEC today that he had offered to resign following the Vols' embarrassing loss to Knetucky at the end of the 2011 season. His Hairness veiminetly denied the story, dropping some non-Barbara Dooley approved language in doing so. Dooley called the report “absurd” and said ...

It won’t be cheap for Tennessee to get rid of Derek Dooley and his staff

The seat under Derek Dooley is getting hotter and hotter with each loss that the Vols suffer. And though, Nick Saban thinks Dooley “is doing a fantastic job”, we’ll go out on a limb and say that folks in Knoxville don’t quite agree. So that leads us to the decision that Tennessee will be forced to make at the end of the season. Do they keep Dooley and deal with the possible...

Firing Derek Dooley could cost Tennessee up to $9.3 million

Tennessee is going to have to make a big decision very soon about whether to keep Derek Dooley on as the Vols head football coach, or fire him. The Vols' current 3-4 record would probably be enough for many fans to get rid of His Hairness. Of course, firing Dooley would come with a price, and one that could end up costing the school $9.3 million to replace Dooley and his staff...

Derek Dooley threatens to bench Tyler Bray.

Tennessee star quarterback Tyler Bray did not have the best of games against Alabama next weekend. His two interceptions during the loss to the Crimson Tide were followed up by a no-show at the Vols' postgame press conference. Tennessee head football coach Derek Dooley was apparently not amused by either performance. Dooley announced that he would bench Bray if the interceptions...

Tennessee fan's wishful thinking on Gruden

Current Tennessee head coach Derek Dooley is definitely on the hot seat in Knoxville, as the Vols have lost 11 of their last 12 SEC games. Rumors...

Former Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers great catch

Tennessee coach Derek Dooley cut Rogers loose before the season after he was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in a fight that left an off-duty police officer unconscious. Rogers is now playing for Tennessee Tech, where he is easily the best player on the field 98% of the time. Rogers has 45 receptions through 7 games for a total of 716 yards and 8 touchdowns...

Tennessee Volunteer Football: Time for a Change On Rocky Top

Seven games into the third year of head coach Derek Dooley's tenure and his team seems to be running in place. They feast on the non-conference schedule and choke up when playing big boy football. The Volunteers lack of progress where it counts—on the win-loss record—has fans screaming for change on Rocky Top. Unfortunately, for Coach Dooley, that scream is about to turn...

So, What About Derek Dooley...??? Tide Roll Vols

((HT: WBIR-TV Knoxville)) The HQ has talked about the impending doom on the Plains with the anticipated dismissal of Gene Chizik and his staff at Auburn after their 1-6 start and (probable) 3-9 finish- setting themselves up for the second pick in the upcoming Ess-E-Cee Draft behind Kentucky... What...??? They don't do that...??? Oh, right... But what about the seemingly...

Derek Dooley and Tyler Bray, Mark Richt, Gene Chizik, and more.

Covering Dixie Like Mildew  - The SWRT roundup of SEC news. Too Late for (Tough) Love? John Adams mocks Tennessee head football coach Derek Dooley's threats to bench the Vols' star quarterback Tyler Bray for poor performance on (and off) the field as being "too late." (The Knoxville News Sentinel) Mark Richt want to be special?  Georgia HC Mark Richt...

Nick Saban says Derek Dooley “is doing a fantastic job” at Tennessee

It’s not unusual for Nick Saban to make statements that don’t really make sense. Case in point, Saban’s comments about Derek Dooley after Alabama dominated Tennessee 44-13. Saban used his opening statement in his post-game press conference to shower his former assistant with praise. Praise that most in Knoxville don’t agree with it. And since this is obviously “Saban-talk”...

Derek Dooley on the hot seat, Dan Mullen on mississippi St.-Alabama, and more.

Covering Dixie Like Mildew I've seen the future, and it will be. Team Speed Kills latest BCS predictions see Alabama facing Kansas State in the BCS title game, and Florida vs. Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. Use Your Delusion?
