Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez remains out with multiple injuries. The Cornhusker signal caller is recovering from turf toe, a hip pointer, abdominal strain, and a shoulder injury.
Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini reported to NBC Sports that Martinez will not be playing against Michigan on Saturday.
Freshman Tommy Armstrong will be starting for the fifth time in relief of the ailing Martinez. Martinez has missed four out of the last five games due to his injuries.
Ironically the only Nebraska loss in those five games was the one Martinez played in. For the season, Martinez has completed 69 of 110 passes for 667 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has only had 2 interceptions.
In relief of Martinez, Armstrong is 41 of 75 passing for 520 yards with four touchdowns and six interceptions. Coach Pelini also stated that Ron Kellogg will also play. Kellogg is known for throwing a “Hail Mary” pass to defeat Northwestern with four seconds left on the clock.
