Southern California receiver Marqise Lee broke free from Arizona's defenders time and again, racing his way into the Pac-12 record book. Matt Barkley had a pretty good day of his own, throwing for nearly 500 yards. It still wasn't enough for the Trojans to overcome all of their mistakes. Lee had 16 catches for a Pac-12-record 345 yards and two touchdowns, but No. 10 Southern California couldn't escape five turnovers and more than 100 yards of penalties in a 39-36 loss to Arizona on Saturday. ''The mistakes were discouraging, but we were able to overcome them on the scoreboard,'' USC coach Lane Kiffin said. ''We had the lead, and I thought we might put it away. We gave them too many chances.'' Lee had a huge day for USC (6-2, 4-2 Pac-12), eclipsing the Pac-12 record for receiving yards by halftime and finishing with 469 all-purpose yards after a couple of big kick returns. Barkley put up big numbers, too, matching Carson Palmer's s...

USC's Lee shatters school, Pac-12 records

TUCSON, Ariz. -- USC's Marqise Lee cut through the Arizona defense and found openings unlike any receiver in Pac-12 history Saturday. USC WR has record-setting game

USC wide receiver Marqise Lee went off for the Trojans with a record-setting game against Arizona. Unfortunately for USC, there was one problem.

Penalties finally catch up to Trojans

USC received a school record in passing yards from Matt Barkley at Arizona last Saturday, 493 yards. Marqise Lee had 345 yards receiving, which was fifth best single game total in NCAA history. His 469 all-purpose yards were the second most in NCAA history. Lee combined with Robert Woods to have 438 receiving yards which is the most in school history. Flat out ridiculous numbers...

Trojans deflated after loss to Arizona

VIDEO: Quarterback Matt Barkley

After becoming the Pac-12 leader for career touchdown passes thrown, the records continued to pile up for USC quarterback Matt Barkley as the Trojans routed Colorado 50-6. But as he said at practice this week, that's old news as the Trojans turn their focus to Arizona.

No. 9 USC must slow down explosive 'Cats

Matt Barkley threw 20 passes against Washington and looked dreadful. He completed just 30 percent of his passes in the second half. Head coach Lane Kiffin talked about how any quarterback wouldn't be happy by throwing just 20 passes. What a difference a week makes. Barkley threw the same amount of passes against Colorado last week, 20, but he completed 19 of them. Six were...
