Day 2 of this countdown series just got crazy as all **** with the departure of Everett Golson from the University of Notre Dame.
Enter Tommy Rees and his brand of family crazy. I don't know if anyone (other than Tommy's sister) is rooting for Rees as much as I am. I love a good redemption story and have no problem admitting that I may choke back some tears after witnessing one here of there.
Let the shouts of "TOMMY ******* REES" & "REESMAN TROPHY" & "TOMMY MOXON" reign down upon thee.
97 days y'all!

I can not explain to you how hard it is for the starting quarterback of a team that just went to the National Championship game to flunk out of school.
You almost have to do it on purpose, but that is exactly what Everett Golson is claiming happened.

Notre Dame's aura is gone again. Just like that. It is amazing how every last thing has gone wrong for Notre Dame football dating back to, roughly, opening kickoff of the BCS title game.
Alabama knocked Notre Dame off its axis. But the myth they live by in South Bend, and believe in, is that Irish football is above the dirty fingernails of college football.
Do things the right...

Since 2007, we haven’t had a Notre Dame QB who have sufficient baggage. Starters at the illustrious position of Notre Dame QB, the most high profile position in all of college football have included: Demetrius Jones, Jimmy Clausen, Dayne Crist, Tommy Rees, Andrew Hendrix, and Everett Golson. With the exception of Hendrix all have made headlines off the field.
Jones and Crist didn’t...
With the college football news breaking late Saturday that Notre Dame star quarterback Everett Golson, just a sophomore-to-be in the fall, is out at Notre Dame for (according to ESPN) an academic violation of some type comes renewed thoughts of former Oklahoma State quarterback Wes Lunt eventually landing at South Bend.
With the negative publicity from the Manti Te'o hoax to the recent suspension of quarterback Everett Golson, Notre Dame players may want to watch what they do on Twitter. Current and former players appear to be following and tweeting adult film actress/model Emily Austin aka a porn star. Austin is a self proclaimed Notre Dame fan. One Twitter handle looks as though it belongs...
Gunner Kiel shot down speculation that he might return to Notre Dame in light of Everett Golson’s status change. Golson, who started 11 games for the Irish last season as a redshirt freshman, is no longer enrolled at Notre Dame because of an academic violation. The change in Golston’s status sparked speculation that Kiel could [...]
Jimmy already hit you with the Everett Golson news this morning, but I couldn't let the day go by without chiming in on this as a Notre Dame fan because he concluded it with, "I wouldn't be any more worried...than I was a month ago." With all due respect to our resident Buckeye, I'm more worried. Significantly more worried. Like, Derek Rose the night before...
