NFL Draft Zone:
Notre Dame junior RB Cierre Wood announced through social media that Saturday was his final home game at Notre Dame Stadium. This likely means Wood plans on leaving for the NFL after this season. Head coach Brian Kelly is very good at keeping his top players, convincing them to finish all four years of eligibility rather than leave early, but Wood will have already graduated prior to April’s draft. He is certainly a name to keep in mind and Wood will find a place in the log jam among the the top running back prospects.
This is big news from the junior, who has been very impressive this year. The draft is getting better and better by the day. It should be interesting to see what other players will forgo their senior year.
