Heading into their first game of the season against the Buffalo Bulls, the Ohio State Buckeyes were a little short at running back. With starter Carlos Hyde suspended three games and Rod Smith suspended one, Urban Meyer announced fifth-year senior Jordan Hall would get the start. After Hall, many expected former GlenOak standout, Bri’onte Dunn, to see plenty of action after being a highly touted recruit of Meyer’s 2012 recruiting class—however that was not the case.
As the Buckeyes defeated Buffalo 40-20, Hall racked up 159 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries, while starting quarterback Braxton Miller chipped in 17 carries for 77 yards of his own. Hall was the feature back in the offense for pretty much the entire game, except when he needed a rest.
