Ohio State defensive end Noah Spence has been suspended for the Orange Bowl as well as the first two games of the Buckeyes 2014 season. The all-Big Ten performer violated a conference rule, according to a statement released Wednesday by Ohio State. Spence did not travel with the Buckeyes to Florida due to what was deemed a “personal issue.” He led the Buckeyes in sack with eight and recorded 13 1/2 tackles for a loss. There were no details on the infraction, but the statement did say that Spence’s family did not agree with the decision: “Spence’s parents, who did not agree with the rule violation nor the penalty imposed, were assisted by the Ohio State Department of Athletics in exhausting the appeals process that was available to them with the Big Ten.” Spence also is an academic all-Big Ten honoree and an OSU Scholar-Athlete. He will continue course work toward his sociology degree next semester, according to the school. While Spence will be allowed to practice with Ohio State this spring he will not be able to play until Sept. 13, 2014 against Kent State.

The bad news keeps piling on for the Buckeyes, as safety Christian Bryant has been denied another year of eligibility, likely ending his Ohio State football career. Arm Chair Quarterback: The Orange Bowl That Got Away.

It is 1am on Saturday and I’m trying to figure out what happened. The Ohio State Buckeyes have gone 24-2 in the last two years and they have NOTHING to show for it. It is actually pretty simple. The Buckeyes gave up 576 yards of offense, allowing Boyd and Watkins to rewrite the Orange Bowl record book. The defense was every bit as bad as we thought it was and the Buckeyes lose...

Quarterback Braxton Miller admitted that he was scared to see how they would react to him after he threw the game-sealing interception...

Injuries, Suspensions threaten fragile Buckeyes defense

There’s no use in denying it at this point: Ohio State’s defense cost them a shot at the national championship. Through a combination of unfortunate injuries (Christian Bryant), failure to try new players (Vonn Bell), and pure incompetence (Armani Reeves, Pitt Brown, Joshua Perry), the Buckeye defense bungled their way to some embarrassing yardage and point totals against what...

Braxton Miller Lowers Shoulder, Scores 33-Yard TD Run (GIF)

Braxton Miller is one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the country, and it didn’t take long for him to show off his wheels in the Orange Bowl. On Ohio State’s first drive, Miller kept the ball on a read-option play and took off down field. A high step maneuver and a lowered shoulder later and the Buckeyes’ QB was in the end zone, tying the game up at 7. courtesy: bleacher...

Buckeyes vs. Clemson TigersJanuary 3, 2014Brian Ohio State 45Clemson 27Even with a shorthanded and somewhat nervewracking defense, the Buckeyes take care of business.
