Dave Martin, AP Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide look like the best team in America right now and many are questioning if there is another team even close right now. They defeated a Michigan team that may lose five games, but it wasn’t their fault the Maize and Blue are falling flat on their faces (and the fact they were overrated to begin with). Their offensive line is the best in the history of the BCS era arguably (it isn’t a debate for me), and the defense has just reloaded. Looking like a blowout for the beginning of the game, Alabama will dominate from start to finish thanks to their decision makers. A.J. McCarron is a stud that will enter the Heisman race by October if they continue to gash the opposition. The receivers are young, but they are getting open at will against decent competition. Obviously that will increase in the immediate future, but the Rebels do not possess the defensive talent to slow down Alabama’s consistent offense. If Texas can score over half a hundred, ...

Another Batman spoof: 'The Dark Meyer Rises'

As you may remember, last week we tipped you off to a video called “The Dark Chiz Rises," a goofy Batman spoof, which “starred” Gene Chizik as Bruce Wayne, trying to save a crumbling Gotham City… or in this case, a crumbling college football program down on the Plains. It’s safe to say that the video not only made our week, but quite possibly our entire 2012 as...

Saban impressed with Freeze, Ole Miss

QUICK HITS: Alabama coach Nick Saban said Ole Miss has improved and is a completely different team under new head coach Hugh Freeze, plus other notes from today's press conference.

No. 1 Alabama spreading the wealth early on

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama's best players can't be found anywhere near the top of the Southeastern Conference in rushing, receiving, tackles or sacks. The top-ranked Crimson Tide is spreading the wealth widely so far, building depth and getting youngsters valuable experience in case they're really needed down the line. The starters consequently are getting plenty of...

Will anyone stop the Tide?

Alabama football should consider changing its mascot. Crimson Tide doesn’t adequately capture the destruction their football program has caused to the rest of the college football landscape. Crimson Tsunami perhaps, or at least Crimson Tidal-Wave might be more appropriate. Everything and everyone in the path — whether stationary or in motion — has been flattened by ‘Bama...

No. 1 Bama showcasing depth, not flashy stats

Alabama's best players won't be found anywhere near the top of the Southeastern Conference in rushing, receiving, tackles or sacks. The top-ranked Crimson Tide is spreading the wealth widely so far, partly because it has been able to substitute heavily in four straight blowouts. Coach Nick Saban says this Alabama team ''doesn't have as many defined stars as...

LSU Review: Lots of promise, lots of pain

I hate when people apologize for blogs being late and such, but I'm about do it. Grandaddy Blogle passed away Monday night, so I've been understandably out of it, and not really in the mood to be blogling. However, every single time I saw Grandaddy over the past few years, he would always ask me about my job and about my site. He always loved to hear how much the site has...

Lester Communicates For Tide Defense

Safety Robert Lester has ascended in the Nick Saban system to a position of leadership in the secondary. The three-year starter embodies all the attributes required to absorb the complex schemes employed by the Alabama staff.

Georgia Football: FAU Coach Pelini, Alabama Pressured “more than Georgia”

File this quote under, ‘I’ll get back to you later’, but, after getting trounced by the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, Florida Atlantic coach Carl Pelini was asked to compare Georgia (their week three opponent) to Alabama snf here’s what he had to say: “That’s not Georgia we faced today, that’s Alabama – it’s very different. Different scheme-wise. I think they’re...

Square Fits In Perfect With Tide Defense

Damion Square and the Alabama defense have held opponents to a grand total of 21 total points through four games, 2nd nationally with a 5.25 points average. Normally a defensive end in the 3-4 scheme, he has shown the strength and versatility to move inside on pass rushing situations. The Houston native was available for comments at the Monday press conference.

Jones Knows Of Ole Miss Coach

Memphis is the hometown for the celebrated Alabama center Barrett Jones. He recalls competing against the high school team coached by current Ole Miss Head Coach Hugh Freeze. The experience was a memorable moment in his prep career for a particular reason.

Saban Doesn’t Want ‘Told You So’ Game

Alabama didn’t have anything to do with the promise that Tim Tebow made to Florida followers in 2008. But the speech by the former quarterback of the Gators is a part of Crimson Tide preparation this week.

Weekend Wrap: Snyderball soars

The Super Six 1. Alabama (4-0): Nick Saban has requested that members of the media give Alabama’s opponents props, so great work on Florida Atlantic’s part for scoring on the Tide. 2. LSU (4-0): The Tigers hung on for an uninspiring 12-10 victory at Auburn and probably deserve to get dropped. Benefit of the doubt. 3. Florida State (3-0): If the Seminoles...

Mississippi-Alabama Preview

Alabama's best players can't be found anywhere near the top of the Southeastern Conference in rushing, receiving, tackles or sacks. The top-ranked Crimson Tide is spreading the wealth widely so far, building depth and getting youngsters valuable experience in case they're really needed down the line. The starters consequently are getting plenty of relief but not huge...
