Louisville is a hot pick to reach the BCS National Championship Game this year. The Cardinals have (what appears to be) an easy schedule, a stud quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater, and a ton of returning starters from last year’s Sugar Bowl winning squad. Add in the recent news that former Auburn running back Michael Dyer will be joining the team and it’s obvious to see why many are pegging the Cards to earn a shot at a title. But not everyone is so high on the Cardinals – and coach Charlie Strong and his staff are making it clear that nothing is handed out in August. Check out the poster behind Strong in the picture below – it’s an ESPN article about “Teams That Could Slide in 2013″ – and Louisville is on there. via Brian Bennett We’ve seen different “locker room material” from programs this summer – Alabama has Texas A&M logos in its weight room, while Michigan State has a quote from Michigan’s AD hanging on the wall. But this is the first we’ve seen that involves the media dir

Strong: Dyer will get zero tolerance along with opportunity

The Michael Dyer decision has weighed heavily on Charlie Strong’s mind since he received a phone call a couple of weeks ago from Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock. It was Fitz Hill, an old friend, a former football coach and the current President at the college. “Fitz called and told he had a young man I might be interested in,” he said. “He never said his name in the...

Clint Hurtt back where he belongs

There he was in the middle of the practice field, as imposing as ever. Maybe more so. Clint Hurtt is back where he belongs, coaching while defensive line, waiting for the NCAA to decide his future. Their decision making process moves at a snail’s pace so it could conceivably being another year before that happens. Worse than the actual judicial system. Why not spend the time...
