Found September 03, 2013 on The Cardinal Connect:
On the offensive side of the ball, I think we got exactly what we expected from Charlie Strong and the Louisville Cardinals on Sunday. The defense on the other hand was a pleasant surprise. I think we all knew that the team had talented players on defense; however the Cards were inconsistent defensively last season. Vance Bedford’s bunch more than stepped up in the season opener. Louisville gave up just 273 yards to a team that features one of the top quarterback/running back duos in the country. The Cards allowed less than three yards per carry on the ground. Defensive captain Preston Brown spoke to media following the game and was more than pleased with his team’s performance.

Anytime there has been a lack-luster crowd since he’s been hired, Strong has found a spot to sneak in a comment about the lack of fans. He even went as far as comparing Louisville fans to the arch rival “Big Blue Nation,” last season following a poor showing for the...

Corvin Lamb tears ACL, out for the season

Tough news today from Charlie Strong’s press conference as it was announced running back Corvin Lamb suffered a torn ACL during Louisville’s 49-7 win over Ohio U. Corvin rushed four times for 13 yards before suffering the injury. He is only a sophomore and I assume UofL will apply for a medical waiver for him. Louisville long shot in title race

We are the sum total of our accomplishments. Fair or not, judging a football team by these criteria is precisely the college climate we've been exposed to for years. Schedule, conference affiliation, and record are what fuel perception of each team -- despite knowing a team's 12-0 or 11-1 mark isn't created equally. There's a chance a team hailing from a pseudo BCS...

Corvin Lamb’s junior year over quickly

Corvin Lamb on hold again. Ready to show what he could do. Lamb’s opportunity looked like it had arrived, the game out of reach, a chance to be the featured running back, at least for the fourth quarter with the University of Louisville ahead 49-7. Nagging injuries behind him going into the season, Lamb had just returned a kickoff for 20 yards, carried the ball three times for...
