With Saturday's victory, the Mustangs have won their sixth game of the season and are bowl eligible for the third year in a row. J.J. McDermott fought off a handful of injuries and was able to lead SMU by completing 29 of 40 passes for 322 yards and three touchdowns. Zach Line reached the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the second year in a row with his 143-yard, three-touchdown performance.
