Louisville head coach Charlie Strong and Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops both met and spoke to the media on Wednesday afternoon at the annual Governor’s Cup Luncheon. Below is a brief recap of Charlie Strong’s comments. Coach Strong opened the press conference by saying that last year’s success will not determine this year’s success. He also went on to talk about how his team has matured and they understand the work ethic needed to improve on a daily basis. “I am happy with this football team, we know what is ahead of us and what needs to get done,” says Strong. Despite being happy with his team, he also noted that there is plenty of work to be done. “We are no where we should be. There is a lot of room for improvement.” Leadership has been something that Strong’s previous team lacked from time-to-time. However, for the first time in his tenure with the Louisville program, Strong now has a solid group of juniors and seniors that he brought into the program. “The seniors have stepped...

One Particular Media Outlet Is Providing Coach Strong With Bulletin Board Material

If there is one thing that we know about Charlie Strong, it’s that he has always been able to find a way to motivate his team. If there is someone out there that isn’t giving the Louisville football team much respect, he’ll make sure his players know about it. When you’re one of the best teams in the country and you have a schedule filled with lackluster opponents, this strategy...

Strong Says There Are No New Members To The Program. At Least Not Yet

As you could expect, one of the many questions that Charlie Strong was asked yesterday at the annual Governor’s Cup Luncheon was about the possible new additions to the roster. No one actually mentioned the name Michael Dyer, but I guarantee that is exactly who the media was inquiring about. Although Strong says there are no new members to the football team, he also made some comments...

Strong taking time on Michael Dyer decision

Will Charlie Strong give Michael Dyer a second chance? Dyer has spoken with Strong about playing at the University of Louisville. But despite some chatter on local message boards indicating otherwise, there’s no indication that Strong has assigned him any locker space. Dyer has been out of college football for a year after being dismissed by Auburn where he rushed for 1,000-plus...

Will Teddy Bridgewater Stay For A Senior Season? It’s Definitely Possible

Among the bar conversations and sauna debates this offseason, Louisville’s high card to our royal flush has been the ace our their hearts, Teddy Bridgewater. Demonstrating last year just how valuable he is, it comes as no surprise that he’s got everyone talking about his career beyond the University of Louisville. Sure, having Ted assures Card faithful that everything will be...

What We Know About The Michael Dyer Situation

It’s been around 48-hours since the “Michael Dyer to Louisville” speculation started heating up. Unfortunately, 48-hours later we don’t have much of an update. At this point, what we do know is that Michael Dyer is looking for a school to play for. However, both sides are not openly talking about the situation. I can’t officially confirm this because the university isn’t...

President Obama Refuses To Mention Kentucky By Name In Front Of Louisville Team

The national championship Louisville Cardinals basketball team has taken over D.C. — Pitino and the players have been touring the White House and even brought President Obama a custom jersey. As if all of this isn’t hard enough for Kentucky fans, the commander-in-chief took an extra shot at the Wildcats. While congratulating Louisville on its third national championship, Obama...

Behanan caught snoozing at White House

Yesterday, the Louisville Cardinals received their sparkling championship rings from their April run to the national title. Today, the squad gets to tour the White House, and they even brought President Obama a custom Louisville jersey. Apparently the tour isn’t that exciting though — Gorgui Dieng snapped this photo of former teammate Chane Behanan: Chane is sleeping at the...

Behanan catches White House nap

Tuesday was a busy day for the Louisville men's basketball team, which visited the White House to be honored for winning the NCAA championship in April. It was so busy, in fact, that one Cardinals player -- forward Chane Behanan -- had to pause for a quick cat nap while the team was at the president's crib: Chane is sleeping at the White House. Haha

Report: Michael Dyer Decision Expected To Be Finalized & Official Next Week

Former Auburn running back Michael Dyer has become the most talked about man amongst the Louisville fan base over the past 48-hours. Particularly when he told on Thursday that he had picked a school.  Dyer didn’t say which school it was, but it’s believed to be the University of Louisville. During his time away from football, Dyer was enrolled at Arkansas Baptist...

Russ Smith Steals The Show In Estonia

Instead of meeting the President of the United States earlier this week with his teammates, Louisville guard Russ Smith was in Estonia preparing to play for the East Coast All Stars in the annual Four Nation’s Cup. The team had a scrimmage on Tuesday and had their first contest on Thursday morning against Belarus. As you could expect, Russ played very well and was the star of the...

Wisely Kevin Ware Hasn’t And Won’t Watch The Replay Of His Injury

For whatever reason, Louisville guard Kevin Ware wasn’t made available for comment during the team’s visit to the White House earlier this week. However, that doesn’t mean his name wasn’t mentioned numerous times. “And then, of course, there’s Kevin Ware,” Obama said as he mentioned the key pieces for Louisville’s national championship team.”I told him to say hi...
