Photo via UND.com Notre Dame has been hit by the transfer bug. Just a few weeks ago, it was former five-star quarterback Gunner Kiel announcing that he would be leaving South Bend and looking for another place to play. Today, Jason Sapp of Blue & Gold Illustrated is reporting that rising sophomore Davonte’ Neal will be leaving the program as well — it is a surprising move considering the lack of established wide-receivers on the roster and last year’s Notre Dame success. BREAKING: Davonte’ Neal transferring from #NotreDame. All the details inside… (VIP) bit.ly/ZpfQQD #ND #Irish — Jason Sapp (@BGI_JasonSapp) March 27, 2013   Neal was expected to play a bigger role this year in the slot receiver position with the departures of Robby Toma and Theo Riddick. While he has yet to have an opportunity to prove himself at the college level, Brian Kelly and the Notre Dame faithful were expecting him to be a significant contributor moving forward. Davonte Neal transfers because of his kid. Good luck Davonte! Wish I could see more of #19 in the blue and gold but good luck! #GoIrish — Colin Brinkman (@cbrinks5) March 27, 2013
