In a tough blow to the Vanderbilt Commodores football program, star wide receiver Chris Boyd has officially been dismissed from the team.

Vanderbilt has dismissed wide receiver Chris Boyd from the Commodores football and athletic programs. Boyd recently plead guilty to reduced charges that he tried to cover up the alleged rape of a women by four former Vanderbilt football players.
Beth Fortune, Vanderbilt's Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs released the following statement about Boyd's dismissal.

A fifth member of the Vanderbilt football team has dismissed following the rape of a female student.
The Commodores announced Tuesday that wide receiver Chris Boyd is no longer part of the team, saying in a statement that Boyd’s “admitted actions are clearly inconsistent with the high standards of behavior expected of our student-athletes.”
