Given little chance to knock off the nation's top-ranked team, Georgia doesn't have a lot to lose in the Southeastern Conference championship game. Then again, No. 1 LSU probably doesn't either. In all likelihood, the Tigers have already put together a resume that's impressive enough to get them to New Orleans for the BCS title game - even if the 12th-ranked Bulldogs pull off a huge upset Saturday. Georgia coach Mark Richt is among those who feels LSU deserves to play for the national championship, whether they win or lose. He points out the Tigers have already beaten three teams ranked in the top eight of The Associated Press poll. LSU coach Les Miles refuses to get involved in the debate. He says his team isn't looking past the Bulldogs.

Richt says LSU has little to lose

ATLANTA (AP) -- Given little chance to knock off the nation's top-ranked team, Georgia doesn't have a lot to lose in the Southeastern Conference championship game. Then again, No. 1 LSU probably doesn't either. In all likelihood, the Tigers have already put together a resume that's impressive enough to get them to New Orleans for the BCS title game -- even if the...

The 2011 SEC Championship Game: Honey Badgers, Tigerettes, and Cheerleaders

Mark Richt and the Georgia Dawgs came prepared to play the LSU Tigers. After scoring a Field Goal, Georgia went for the onside kick and got it. Apparently the Georgia Wide Receivers made sure to cover their hands with vaseline in order to make sure they wouldn’t catch a single pass from Aaron Murray. The Honey Badger went up against the largest Offensive Line in the entire country...

TSD: 1-on-1 with Les Miles after Georgia win

LSU head coach Les Miles talks to TSD's Emily Villere about winning the SEC title and punching the Tigers' ticket to New Orleans for the BCS National Championship.

LSU set for national championship game

ATLANTA - LSU head coach Les Miles spent the weekend of this SEC Championship Game insisting that his team...

Does Georgia have the horses?, part four

Sorry, but with LSU looking at a possible undefeated season which would include SEC and national titles, I can’t help but revisit Heisman/College Football Pundit’s spectacularly wrong assessment of Les Miles as the worst college football head coach in America. 1. Les Miles, LSU — You could put a potted plant on the sideline at Tiger Stadium and get the same results Miles has...

Dec 1, The Dogs Will Prove the Nation Wrong Saturday

Funny article! But Les Miles said UGA will see LSU's best players on Saturday and when the Dawgs prove you and most of the nation wrong what will you have

LSU-Georgia SEC Championship Game Hype Video

The No. 1 LSU Tigers are back in the SEC Championship Game. Their opponent is a familiar one in the Georgia Bulldogs. LSU is 1-1 against Georgia and 3-1 overall in the SEC title game. LSU won in 2003 en route to a BCS National Championship. Georgia won the game in 2005. Les Miles is 1-2 all-time against the Bulldogs. LSU leads the overall series 15-12-1. If LSU wins on Dec. 3, it...

No. 1 Football Focused on SEC Title Game

BATON ROUGE - If there was any doubt about what LSU's mindset is going into Saturday's Southeastern Conference Championship Game against Georgia in Atlanta, head coach Les Miles put that to rest on Wednesday saying his top-ranked Tigers are focused on one thing and that's winning the conference title.

Semi-tough: Observations from the goal line

Whatever was said and done in the Georgia locker room at halftime yesterday, Mark Richt needs to gather that all together, crumple it into a little ball, douse it with gasoline, set it on fire and bury the ashes at sea.  Boy, what a letdown. My question from watching that game isn’t whether Georgia had to play perfectly to beat an excellent LSU team – Georgia, after all, was...

A stopped clock

Geez, I must be getting old.  Michael Adams finally said something I can’t argue with. “I get amused at this sometimes, frankly,” Adams said. “I actually have had suggestions from some of the same people over the last four months that, after the 0-2 start, were asking the AD and me to terminate him, who are now upset that we haven’t renewed the contract. “So you don’t...
