The Southeastern Conference has suspended two Georgia players and one Vanderbilt player for the first halves of their next games as punishment for incidents in the Bulldogs' 33-28 win on Saturday. The suspensions of Vanderbilt center Logan Stewart and two Georgia players, defensive tackle Kwame Geathers and defensive back Shawn Williams, were announced Wednesday. The suspensions will be served when Vanderbilt plays Army this week and Georgia plays Florida in Jacksonville on Oct. 29. Geathers hit Stewart after Stewart was called for a flagrant personal foul in the fourth quarter. Williams drew a flagrant personal foul in the third quarter. The SEC made no ruling on Vanderbilt coach James Franklin or Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, who had a heated exchange on the field after the game.

UGA, Vandy players, not coaches, suspended by SEC

While most of the attention was focused on the postgame dust-up between coaches, it’s the players involved in the contentious and chippy Georgia-Vanderbilt game Saturday that have felt the sanctioning wrath of the SEC. The conference announced Wednesday afternoon that UGA defensive lineman Kwame Geathers and defensive back Shawn Williams, as well as Vandy center…

Georgia Bulldogs: Soooo....Let Me Get This Straight, Coach, You're The Victim Now?

Listen, this whole Franklin/Grantham fiasco is turning into more of a he said/he said battle of who's got more machismo. Frankly, I don't give a flip anymore if James Franklin felt that he was disrespected. He put his toe in the water and found a shark willing to bite it off. Perhaps he didn't like that and now sees fit to throw Grantham under the bus as the wrongdoer—your...

This should be the last word on you-know-what. (Not that it will be.)

Vanderbilt offensive tackle Wesley Johnson said there was lots of “extra-curricular stuff” going on but stopped shy of calling Georgia a dirty team. “No, they weren’t that dirty,” Johnson said. “Speaking from my point of view, I haven’t seen anything so far that would lead to (Georgia being dirty). I know they played hard. They kind of played their defense the same...
