Earlier today, Oklahoma Sooners fans were stunned when Bob Stoops announced the dismissal of running back Damien Williams from the team. The move was particularly shocking because he had only two games remaining in his career at the school. Reasons for the dismissal were not given. Of course, it’s a big loss for the team heading into the big showdown with Oklahoma State, but the sadder story is that a career had to end prematurely. In fact, several former Sooners stars, all successful OU products currently in the NFL, are not happy with the the decision to kick Williams off of the team.   Never seen a staff put so much effort into trying to sabotage people’s careers — Kenny Stills (@KSTiLLS) November 25, 2013 Damien’s situation is Damien’s situation I’m referring to more than that — Kenny Stills (@KSTiLLS) November 25, 2013 It is what it is. By DAVE SKRETTA AP Sports Writer You could almost hear Bob Stoops shrug his shoulders in the frigid shed just up the ramp from the playing field, where his No. 22 Sooners had just squeaked out a win over Kansas State. At a school where Bennie Owen, Bud Wilkinson and Barry Switzer once plied their trade, Stoops had just trumped them all. He won his 158th game...
