In the year that has followed his firing by Miami, former Hurricanes coach Randy Shannon has gone back to school. A lot of schools, to be precise. Shannon has spent time with more than a half-dozen teams in recent months, seeing how they run various aspects of their programs. And in an interview with The Associated Press, Shannon says he's learned plenty for the future. He still follows Miami, of course. Shannon still lives in South Florida and watches most Hurricanes games on television. He also is pained by the situation involving former booster Nevin Shapiro, whose allegations have rocked the university's athletic department and could lead to major sanctions for the football program.
