Steve Sarkisian didn’t mince words early Sunday morning when speaking about Washington’s narrow road loss to Stanford. Sarkisian, speaking on KJR radio, accused Cardinal Defensive Line Coach Randy Hart of telling his players to fake injuries to slow down the Huskies’ offense. And while Cardinal senior linebacker Shayne Skov responded with a little bit of Twitter banter, the real rebuttal came today from coach David Shaw. He didn’t hold back either. Via David Lombardi: How it all started: David Shaw came on line, moderator asked “any questions?” Shaw said: “Can I begin with an opening statement?” — David Lombardi (@DavidMLombardi) October 8, 2013 “We don’t fake injuries. We never have. We never will… I don’t care what Steve Sarkisian thinks he saw.” – David Shaw — David Lombardi (@DavidMLombardi) October 8, 2013 David Shaw calls out Steve Sarkisian for calling out DL coach Randy Hart. calls it “unprofessional” — David Lombardi (@DavidMLombardi) October 8, 2013 David Shaw BLASTING Sarkisian. Says when UW beat Stanford, Cardinal did not make excuses and blame officials like Washington — David Lombardi (@DavidMLombardi) October 8, 2013 I must say, David Shaw just OWNED Washington and Steve Sarkisian in a stern opening statement. Just roasted him. It was awesome. — David Lombardi (@DavidMLombardi) October 8, 2013 David Shaw: “the only assistant that fakes injuries is at UW.” — David Lombardi (@DavidMLombardi) October 8, 2013 Clearly, Shaw takes exception to being told that his team cheats. We’ll see if Sarkisian fires back, or just leaves it be.
