At least South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier is being a solid role model for his players.
He just doesn’t have his facts straight.
Spurrier was asked Tuesday whether he would give his players time to vote, and his response showed that he may not quite be clear on some of life’s biggest benchmark ages.
“Our players that are 21?” he asked, according to USAToday.com.
Spurrier, who has probably encountered plenty of players trying to slip under the 21-year-old threshold for drinking, seems to have gotten that age mixed up with 18, which is when American citizens are allowed to vote.
As far as we know, South Carolina players were allowed to go to the polls Tuesday — although not all may have be permitted to have a celebratory drink as Tuesday night’s results rolled in.
