NORMAN, Okla. - With less than two weeks to go before the opening game, Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops still hasn't announced who the team's starting quarterback will be.
Stoops met with the media Monday and said he hasn't decided yet. "Nope. Nothing on the quarterback. Anything else?," he asked, sort of jokingly.
The prevailing opinion is Blake Bell, who has contributed for the past two seasons in primarily running situations, will get the job, but redshirt freshman Trevor Knight seems to have gained some momentum in the past few weeks.
Stoops has not made any assistant coaches available to answer any questions from the media and none of the practices have been open to the media, either, so any knowledge on the quarterback race is purely speculation at this point. Stoops did say on ESPN he hopes to have a quarterback picked by the end of the week.
