This is the real story behind the invasion of Teddy Bridgewater’s jeresey on Florida’s campus and most notably on Tim Tebow’s statue.  As many of you all probably dont know, I live in Orlando, FL and am an avid Louisville fan.  I was born in Louisville and it is what I consider “home.”  So you all can imagine how nice it was to beat the mighty Florida Gators simply for the reason that I could come back and throw it in their fans face. I heard things from Florida fans like “You all don’t deserve to be here…” and “Louisville is terrible and we could play our backups and beat you guys.” I simply took the criticism and informed them that we had one weapon that they couldn’t compete with…Teddy Bridgewater.  And of course in typical Florida fan fashion they claimed that Jeff Driskel was much better than Teddy.  (Boy, were they wrong) I was up in Louisville for christmas when my uncle and cousins were kind enough to let me ride down to New Orleans with them.  The only problem was that I had no way to get back to Orlando.  I ended up getting a ride back from a couple friends who were subsequently Florida fans. After we won arguably the biggest game in school history I was elated and couldnt wait to get back home to all the people who kept saying that the matchup in the Sugar Bowl was a joke and an embarrassment.  My friends from Florida drove me back to Gainesville, where I then hitched a ride back to Orlando.  They were very complimentary of Teddy Bridgewater and Charlie Strong and couldn’t have been nicer about the outcome of the game. When I met with my mother and sister to take me to Orlando, my mother made a point to tell me how a lot of Florida fans back home were none to happy with the outcome of the game.  Some even were calling for Will Muschamp’s job (absolutely insane).  Thats when she recommended that we go to UF’s campus and take pictures next to the Bull Gator in front of the football complex.  I was down for it so we headed over to the stadium. For those of you that don’t know, Florida Field is directly in the center of UF’s campus and fairly close to the school’s police station.  When I got out of my car with my Teddy jersey on, there was no doubt in my mind that I was going to get some very dirty looks. First we walked up to Tebow’s statue and took pictures with me and my sister in them.  Then a car drove by….very slowly….and stared at us.  Wanting to get out of that area pretty quickly we ran over to the Bull Gator.  I thought it would be cool to put the Teddy jersey on the gator so I put it on top of it.  That’s when that same car drove by again and just stared at us. We figured that we were running out of time before we were gonna get the little school police called on us so we made our way back to the car. Then it popped into my head…what if I could put the Teddy jersey literally on Tim Tebow.  Well that proved to be impossible due to a wall blocking you from the statue.  So I just placed it on the base of the statue and took pictures.  That is when a school police car came riding past us and we figured it was time to run.  We ran back to our car and took off back to Orlando. The Tim Tebow statue and Bull Gator by the stadium are by far the most loved landmarks at the stadium by Florida fans.  Since returning home I have been shunned by many Florida fans but am overwhelming loved by almost all Florida State and Miami fans. I have heard excuses that Louisville got lucky.  That Florida didn’t care about the game.  That Will Muschamp threw the game.  And about any other ridiculous excuse that you could possibly think of.  The fact of the matter is Louisville came out and dominated both sides of the ball and manhandled a “big-time” SEC school. If there is one thing that I took from this game is that teamwork is a massive part of football these days.  There is no doubt that the SEC has the best talent in the nation but they seemingly underperformed in bowl games this year.  Talent doesn’t win football games, teams do. There is just one thing that Florida and any other school in the nation lacks, that Louisville possesses, and that is the great Teddy Bridgewater.
