I'm guessing everyone is talking this morning about how awesome that fourth quarter was to watch. I mean we saw the return of what we're used to seeing from Montee Ball, the offensive line finally showed up, and of course we saw what's becoming common place - a long TD from Joel Stave to Jared Abbrederis. All of that is amazing and hopefully a positive sign of things to come, but after rewatching the game I came away most impressed with how good our linebacking Corp is as a unit.  Yes, I know Borland overran and looked completely stupid on the Scheelhaase TD run, but that's just one play out of 64 and totally not an indication of how this unit played as a whole. Just check out the tackling numbers from this group: Mike Taylor had 12, Chris Borland 11, and Ethan Armstrong had 10.  As good as Taylor and Borland have been, it's truly been the emergence of Ethan Armstrong that's made this group as scary as any in the Big Ten and the biggest rea...

LBs have Badgers' defense in capable hands

MADISON, Wis. The way Bret Bielema sees it, when the defensive line occupies blockers and funnels the football toward the middle, linebackers should make tackles. But what Bielema, Wisconsin's seventh-year head coach, witnessed on Saturday was something special."I didn't know of any other time during my career where all three linebackers had charted 10 tackles each,...

When UW needed him, White was there

MADISON, Wis. Not long ago, cheers for James White frequently filled Camp Randall Stadium on Saturdays during the fall. His seamless transition from a powerhouse high school program in Florida to a powerhouse college program in Wisconsin put him on track to become the next great running back in a long line of Badgers ballcarriers. Then, the cheers came louder and longer for someone...

Getting Healthy Helps Badgers Chances Moving Foward

Wisconsin football has dealt with a lot in the past 10 months. First it was six new coaches in the off season, then an in season coaching change, but it's been the rash of injuries that have really led to what can only be described as an under whelming 4-2 start for the Badgers. As luck would have it it seems as if the Badgers have gotten healthier at just the right...

Ball Busts Loose as Badgers Grind Out 31-14 Victory

Behind a great 2nd half effort by Montee Ball the Badgers got an important 31-14 victory over Illinois as they improve to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the Big Ten. Wisconsin finally showed their roots in running all over the Illini in the 2nd half to put this game away after an ugly 1st half.  Head Coach Bret Bielema saw his record in Big Ten home openers improve to 6-1 and...

BEHIND THE JERSEY NUMBERS: #34 Days, Zach Bohannon

With 36 days until the Wisconsin Basketball team opens up it's season at the Kohl Center against Southeastern Louisiana, today we'll look at #36, Junior Transfer Zach Bohannon. * 39 Zach Bohannon, brother of former Badger and 1000 point scorer Jason Bohannon, played in 39 games in his 2 year career at Air Force. Bohannon chose to transfer to Wisconsin after his sophomore...

Notes: Trio of Talent

After combining for 32 tackles in the win over Illinois Saturday, Wisconsin linebackers - senior Mike Taylor and juniors Ethan Armstrong and Chris Borland - are the heart of the Badgers' defense.
